MARXIA - On Monday, the People's Assembly of Marxia met to discuss the Commune's future. All three citizens, Protector Titus II, Premier Diana Smith and Julia Smith, were in attendance and all three were there to officially approve the new flag of Marxia, which has been flying since national liberation by Shaoshanian forces on July 14th. After approving the new Communal flag, a motion was brought up to begin the drafting of a constitution. A draft had been in the works since early June and was nearing completion. However, with the recent liberation from Promesa and its new position under Shaoshanian protection, revisions are now underway to include the roles of government officials and the roles of the state. Marxia is not alone; Shaoshan is preparing to undergo a major constitutional overhaul since transitioning into a monarchy following the July 9th Revolution. Marxia's People's Assembly approved measures to revise their draft of the constitution with the potential to pass it into force at the next meeting on August 9th. In the meantime, other ideas on the agenda discussed was the establishment of two national holidays: September 7th, Marxia Day, the anniversary of the foundation of Marxia and July 13th, Liberation Day, the liberation of Marxia as an independent state from the Republic of Promesa. These holidays were passed into force as official holidays with planning having begun on the 1st Marxia day celebrations. This will most likely coincide with other celebrations going on in Shaoshan for the Titus II's 24th birthday on September 4th. With all of these plans in mind, the People's Assembly adjourned until next time with all matters passed today and all things discussed being taken under advisement until Sunday, August 9th.
